AMC’s Susan Lucci is OUT and the First 10’s are awarded on DWTS

Author: Rosie

In: All My Children, Dancing with the Stars

I’m a ‘die hard’ AMC fan, so I really wish Susan didn’t leave tonight.  Even though I was a little disappointed in her dancing, I didn’t think she was the weakest.  My prediction, Warren Sap will be the next voted out.

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough receive perfect 10s from the judges.

All My Children - Babe, Kendall and Greenlee are OUT!

Author: Rosie

In: All My Children

Sorry, but Amanda Baker’s (Babe Chandler) leaving will be no loss.  Nobody can play Babe like Alexa Havins.  Alicia Minshew (Kendall Hart) will be taking a long vacation this fall when she gets married, good!  Her story lines are boring and I have never been a fan.  The show should concentrate on it’s veteran actors.  I was thrilled to have Rebecca Budig (Greenlee Smythe) back.  The person who replaced her was the worst actress I’ve ever seen.  Buddig has decided not to renew her contract in January, too bad, I’ll miss her.

Eileen Herlie who played Myrtle Fargate for 32 years on ‘All My Children’ dead at 90

Author: Rosie

In: All My Children, Celebrity Obituaries, Eileen Herlie

Eileen Herlie, known to millions of daytime viewers as All My Children’s Myrtle Fargate, has died. The actress passed away on October 8th due to complications from pneumonia. She was 90.

In 1976, Herlie made her first appearance as Myrtle Lum, a former carnie who arrived in Pine Valley under less-than-honorable circumstances. Phoebe Tyler had hired Myrtle to pretend to be a Kitty Shea’s mother in an attempt to break up Kitty and Phoebe’s son, Linc. Myrtle managed to shake her shady past and became one of Pine Valley’s most respected residents. Many townspeople passed through the doors of her boarding house and, in addition to having a warm place to sleep, most received warm words of wisdom. Myrtle also became a surrogate mother to Erica Kane after the death of Erica’s mother, Mona. Though the storyline was a bit of a stretch, Myrtle also developed a friendship with Red Kilgren, better known as Santa Claus. The plot also allowed Herlie the opportunity to play Mrs. Claus.  For her work on All My Children, Herlie received four consecutive Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Eileen is survived by her brother and her nieces and nephews.

I have been watching the show for over 30 years myself, Eileen was a beautiful and classy actress that will be missed by many.

Death and destruction are coming to ALL MY CHILDREN, along with some very cool special effects. Starting Oct. 13, and for the next seven episodes, Pine Valley will be hit by a series of tornadoes, and ABC has hired Stargate Digital — the effects house for Heroes, Knight Rider and 24 — to make things look as devastatingly real as possible.  One minute Pine Valley Hospital is safe and the next it’s not.
